Futures For Frontliners

Michigan’s Gov. Whitmer has just launched a new – first in nation –  program to offer essential, frontline workers a tuition-free path to community college. Michigan’s 625,000 COVID-19 essential workers are encouraged to apply now for tuition-free community college.
Futures for Frontliners is a state scholarship program for Michiganders without college degrees who worked in essential industries during the state COVID-19 shutdown in spring 2020 (April 1 – June 30). This scholarship provides these frontline workers with tuition-free access to local community college to pursue an associate degree or a skills certificate, either full-time or part-time while you work.
To be eligible for the program, an applicant must:
• Be a Michigan resident
• Have worked in an essential industry at least part-time for 11 of the 13 weeks between April 1 — June 30
• Have been required to work outside the home at least some of the time between April 1 — June … Read More

Do Your Homework!

I know we are all saying to do your homework, in many ways, as everyone struggles with remote learning.  But this is not a phrase solely for kids.  If you are looking for a job, Do Your Homework! By this I mean be prepared for every stage of the search, application, interview and hiring process.

Do people like working there?  What do the Glass Door or Indeed reviews say?

When applying, make sure you have studied the job description and have tailored your resume and cover letter to address the needs of the company.  There is simply no excuse for not knowing what you are applying … Read More

While there is so much to say, nothing is quite enough.   And there are only a few things that we can do as a company and employer.

We can listen.  Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you.

We can learn.  If you feel that there is something we should know, please contact us.

We can be compassionate.  If we can help you through this, we will do our utmost to do so.

As we look towards the remainder of the year, we are … Read More
